Roopkatha Rangmanch was founded by Mridula Tripathi and Pankaj Tripathi (National School of Drama, Class of 2004), out of a shared passion for theatre as both an art form and a way of life.
Our mission is to revive forgotten folk tales and timeless stories, presenting them on stage with a contemporary vision while preserving their cultural essence. We believe theatre is not only entertainment, but also a mirror of society and a foundation for future generations to build empathy, creativity, and collective memory.
At Roopkatha Rangmanch, we bring together trained artists, directors, musicians, and storytellers from across India, creating a vibrant space where tradition meets innovation. With every play, we strive to nurture young talent, instill the values of collaboration, and ensure that the legacy of theatre continues to inspire audiences of all ages.

In a small town alive with rhythm, longing, and simmering danger, Maria yearns to break free and chase the open sky. Jugal, a gentle dreamer blessed with a golden voice, stands torn between two futures: rising as the next singing sensation or inheriting his father’s fading but once-renowned band party.
As the band teeters on the brink of collapse—strained by Jugal’s indecision and Rajkishore’s swelling pride—a storm blows in from the shadows: Ballu, a recently freed gangster convinced that Maria is destined to be his.
With love, ambition, and legacy colliding all at once, each of them must choose what they are willing to fight for… and what they must finally let go.

At Roopkatha Rangmanch, we believe theatre is not only a performance but also an education in creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. It gives children and young adults the confidence to communicate, the courage to experiment, and the joy of discovering their own voice.
Our upcoming workshops for children and youth will explore the fundamentals of stagecraft through fun, interactive exercises. From storytelling, body movement, voice training, and improvisation to the basics of stage design, costumes, and lighting, every participant will experience the magic of theatre both on stage and behind the scenes.
The sessions will be mentored by experienced artists and theatre practitioners from across the country, ensuring that every child learns not just performance skills but also discipline, empathy, and collaboration.
These workshops will be designed to suit different age groups — from playful introductory activities for younger children to more structured performance-based training for teenagers and young adults.
Workshops will be announced soon — stay connected to join this creative journey! Together, let us nurture the next generation of storytellers and performers.
